Chapter 28 So we see that Newton has completely rejected any great antiquity of any culture other than the Hebrews, and has roundly and soundly put a period to any considerationt that anyone in the world, with the exception of the Bible, has any authority in ancient matters at all. And occultists by the score, enamored of the side-piece to the Hebrew culture, the Kaballah, have followed suit. But it seems that Newton was wrong. The testimony of the spade seems to confirm the writings of the Greeks to a far greater extent than the writers of the Bible. There is still tremendous resistance to the works of Herodotus and similar histories and geographies, but little by little, spadeful by spadeful, it seems that the Father of History may, in the end, be resoundingly vindicated in many matters. Newton was entirely contemptuous of the claims that Egypt's dynasties extended back 11 thousand years, yet there may be more to this matter than meets the eye. And even though many occultists and alternative science theorists have taken up this subject, following Schwaller de Lubicz, curiously, they still have been deeply influenced by the uniformitarian, linear view of time and evolution. As an aside, in researching this matter, I discovered a very curious thing: it seems that there are some "mainstream" archaeology professors who actually teach courses in "debunking" ideas that contradict their own belief systems! Reading the works of people like Michael Shermer, director of the Skeptic's Society, reminds me more than anything else of the many sermons I heard as a child, hammering home the necessity of resisting the wiles of Satan. In 1990, Robert M. Schoch, traveled to Egypt and conducted geological testing to evaluate the accepted date for the construction of the Great Sphinx of Giza. His research revealed that the Sphinx is actually thousands of years older than previously. Dr. Schoch has been quoted extensively in the media for his work on the Sphinx, and he was featured on "The Mystery of the Sphinx," hosted by Charlton Heston. Regarding the work of Professor Schoch, Rob Lightner writes in a review of Schoch's book Voices of the Rocks:
Erich von Daniken quotes Muhammad ben Abdallah ben Abd al-Hakam as saying, "... the pyramids can only have been built before the Flood; if they had been built after, people would know more about them." [Erich von Daniken 1996, The Eyes of the Sphinx: The Newest Evidence of Extraterrestrial Contact in Ancient Egypt, Berkeley Books, New York] He has a point. The only problem is: which "flood?" The fact is that what little textual evidence has been recovered from Egypt via archaeology, (textual and monumental evidence), says almost nothing about either the pyramids or the Sphinx. There are no detailed records containing evidence as to who was the builder of the Great Pyramids or the Sphinx. The age of the Sphinx is generally connected to Khufu, but there is no written record of Khufu having started construction on the Sphinx. Considering the tendency of the Egyptians to carve inscriptions on any and all available surfaces, this is singularly curious. It suggests that whoever built the pyramids and the Sphinx were not connected in any way to the residents of Egypt of historical times. There is a vast separation between the builders of the pyramids and the sphinx, and the builders of the later temples. To attempt to extract ideas about the former from the latter, as Schwaller did, is simply erroneous. Mark Lehner, Field Director for the American Research Center in Egypt, did a study that showed that no substantial damage occurred to the Sphinx since its original weathering event. Lehner wrote: "It seems necessary to conclude ... that the core-body of the Sphinx was already in a severe state of erosion when the earliest level of masonry was added .... If we assume that a sand covering would act more to protect than to erode the statue, this leaves less than a millennium, or perhaps half a millennium, for the core to have eroded to the conditions shown by the profiles under the added masonry." Lehner estimated that the earliest of the three repairs occurred during the New Kingdom. However, he never provided any historical or physical evidence to support this. What seems to be likely is that the earliest repair was done by Khufu who "restored" the Sphinx rather than built it.
However, there is a problem with that idea as well. The actual evidence suggests that the sphinx was not eroded by a great flood, but rather by rain, and the only period during which this could have occurred was after 8,000 BC, which would mean that they were built by survivors of a former civilization, who were later forced to abandon them. So it is that what we are seeing is a great conflict that is created by comparative science (as well as "occult science"). Over and over again, as we have pushed deeper and deeper into our research, we find that investigating these matters is problematic for a lot of reasons. On the surface, what we see is that academic and professional geologists, glaciologists, geophysicists, paleontologists, oceanographers, astronomers, astrophysicists, physicists, mathematicians, archaeologists, and so on, do not take kindly to intrusions into their private little worlds. They have their gods of convention, whom they worship, and god forbid that anyone should criticize the acceptable protocols of the conventional interpretation. They are warm and safe and their career is protected by their covenant with the scientific Thought Police who are, in turn, high priests to the Matrix Control System. And this is where we discover the problem. The Matrix Control System, via the offices of its high priests of science and social control, ensures that glaciologists do not cross over into astrophysics and that geologists do not cross over into archaeology. In this way, there is no such thing as Comparative Science, and this is most especially true in the United States where the lines between disciplines are most strongly demarcated, patrolled, and enforced by the Scientific Thought Police. And most curious of all is the fact that, in the present day of the break-down of belief systems, the occultists have stepped forward to fill the role of Thought Police with their New Age COINTELPRO operation. If the Bible and its chronology can't stand up to scrutiny, the next best thing is to fall back on the "origin" of the Bible and its chronology: Egyptian culture and "science."
